By any other name would smell as sweet...
William Shakespeare
I heard my dad give his version of this quote more than once as a teen. It always crossed his lips as a lesson was being reinforced.
"A rose by any other name..." When I was younger I didn't quite understand its meaning. However, life has taught me that it is not the name that is important but the character and sweetness of the flower...or person...or action.
